Enhanced DBS Checked
Working in Schools
To work in a school in the UK, you need an Enhanced DBS check with barred lists, which is mandatory for all staff (teaching, non-teaching, paid, voluntary) to safeguard children, showing criminal records, cautions, and if you're barred from working with kids. Your employer (the school) processes the application, and you can't usually apply for an enhanced check yourself. This check is an Ofsted requirement, ensuring only suitable people work with children.
- All Staff: Teachers, support staff, caretakers, administrators, anyone paid or unpaid.
- Volunteers: Anyone working regularly with children.
- Contractors: Especially if working frequently or engaging in "regulated activity" with children (e.g., more than 3 times in 30 days

"I would personally like to express our gratitude on behalf of The Source for the Easter Egg donation, as you will be aware our country is in crisis due to the rise in the cost of living, many families in the lower income bracket are especially feeling the burden of the rises in fuel and food costs, many will be having to make the choice between eating and using their electric or gas. At The Source Community Food Club and Baby Bank, it is our mission that we can help over 100 families a week by cutting the costs of their weekly shopping bill. As we are a charity, we work off donations and its donations like what you have provided that really makes a difference, you have helped in so many ways and have blessed so many families with your kindness and generosity, we are so very grateful. We were especially overwhelmed by how many Easter Eggs you donated (250)! As I mentioned every year, we reach out for Easter donations but this year we hardly got any response, so what Fairmont Property Services donated was very special and valued so much."
